Flipping tools for profit, with our real numbers

What we paid and what each tool sold for, from our own flips in September and October 2026, and the comps check that decides every buy.

All selling guidesPublished November 1, 20262 min readBy Stone Ross

Tools are the best flipping lane we know. Buyers search by maker and model, sold prices are public, and good trade gear sits in garages after a retirement or a change of trade. These are tool flips from our own ledger in September and October 2026, with what we paid and what each one sold for.

    01

    02

    Trade gear with a following

    03

    The comps come first

Every buy above started with sold listings for the exact model. Asking prices do not count. The same model sells for different amounts by condition and accessories. We sold one Appion G5Twin for $450 and another for $305.99.

Marketplace fees, a label and a box come out of every sale. The gap between the buy and the comps has to cover them, with room left over.

    04

    What to look for

    • A model plate you can read in the listing photos, so you can comp before you drive.
    • Cases, chargers, batteries and heads. A complete kit sells for more than the tool alone.
    • Trade brands buyers search by name: Fieldpiece, Appion, RIDGID, Hilti, Milwaukee, Vivax-Metrotech.
    • Sellers clearing a garage or a work van.
    • A power test before you pay.
