TWO WAYS TO REACH THE BUYER

By appointment. You or your representative handles the handoff. The buyer pays before taking the piece.
Another arrangement? We agree it before listing.

Clients typically pack and ship with our label. In agreed circumstances we ship, or the buyer sends a shipper.
Your share goes out Friday after cleared funds arrive.

What it costs
| Estimated value of the contents | Our share |
|---|---|
| Under $5,000 | 50% |
| $5,000 to $19,999 | 40% |
| $20,000 and above | 35% |
Minimum. Full-service collection visits generally start at $1,500 in estimated resale value, with at least five pieces worth over $150 each.*
One piece. One valuable piece can start with photo review. We assess its value, condition and practical handling, then recommend the right level of support.
Paid. Local buyers pay you at the door, first, and we invoice our share on Friday. When a piece sells online, the marketplace pays us and your share goes out on the first Friday after cleared funds arrive, by check or to the bank you link in your portal. Itemized either way.
An introductory 35% rate is available with a short written or video testimonial about your honest experience. Positive feedback is not required. Google and other review-site reviews do not qualify. Your agreement sets the conditions.
Special cases are quoted on their own. An unusually valuable estate gets quoted below the table. So does one holding fine art or real jewelry. A house that is exceptionally full, or well outside our area, may carry a minimum. Either way you get the number before anything starts.
You pay us nothing to start, because we are paid a share of what each piece sells for, after it sells. If it does not sell, we are not paid for it.
What we sell
From the furniture and art to the tools, models and useful things in the workshop. Show us a valuable piece or a worthwhile collection. We assess it before arranging a visit.
In-home consignment brochure (PDF)Most of what we sell, we sell on consignment. A few pieces we buy ourselves and pay for in cash the day we come for them.
Compact pieces worth $1,000 or more on resale: pro and trade tools, survey and test gear, studio and lab equipment. Small enough to carry out in a box.
Survey gear we bought and sold
Everything else. Furniture, art, collections, the rest of the house. We list it, talk to every buyer and take our share from the table above, after it sells.

OUR PROMISE, IN WRITING
Our share is based on the proposal number. We take no commission on the difference.
We earn a share when a piece sells.
Your proposal. Your price floors.
Ask us for the insurance certificate.
Until the buyer has paid.
Within a day of the walkthrough you have a written proposal: every piece, what it should sell for, and our share. It is yours to keep whether you hire us or not.
Every dollar above the number in your proposal is yours, all of it. Our share is worked out on the proposal number and nothing else, so if we estimate a chest at $200 and it brings $2,000, we take our share of the $200 and the whole $1,800 goes to you. We take no commission on the difference.
It is your house and they are your things, so the final call on any price is yours. Ask us to open higher than we estimated and we will. If it sells there, you keep every dollar of the gap.
It applies to both services, consignment and estate sales.
We carry $1,000,000 of commercial general liability insurance through National Specialty Insurance Company, with customer property protection. Ask for the certificate and we send it before we set foot in the house, and you can be named as an additional insured on request.
Nothing up front. We are paid a share of what sells. If a piece does not sell, we are not paid for it.
